Boost control trough egr circuit
Shooting in the dark here. I had come across several members asking about boost control using the stock pcm. So far the answer is no.
But what if one was to use the egr circuit which is a pwm circuit to control a boost selenoid? Would this be possible? I have done megasquirt and meased around tunning ebc selenoind duty cycle vs boost.
Does anyone has any insight on how could this work?
and another topic that i see quite often is boost by gear. It is doable but you need a mullett to do it. Parts required: 4 cheapie manual boost controllers( 1xgear) electric valves to swith between them. Something to turn them on and off( the signal going to your transmission shift selenoids) wire and plumb all this crap to your vehicle. Tune mbc1 to give you x boost on 1st gear. Same for the rest of the mbc's on their corresponding gears. Then the valves will switch to only 1mbc per gear when the pcm commands x shift selenoid to do its majic. Some details were left out due to patent restrictions. For a manual microswitches and ****.
Have fun.

The pcm does not have the logic ( Code) to know what to do with the EGR output in reference to Manifold pressure. Thats part of the limitations of a stock PCM.
The boost by gear would work as you said with a few relays and solenoids.
