Default LS1 Maf on a dorman LS2 intake

Finishing my heads/cam/intake swap but now have a question. I was going to ditch the maf for speed density but have read some negative posts from doing this. Basically I just figured running a 75mm maf is defeating the purpose of a LS2 intake/92mm throttle body setup. Then I've been reading about using a stock truck maf which is 85mm I believe. What do you all think would be my best choice?

Either figure out how to run a later model MAF or go SD. Your idea that a 75mm MAF defeats the purpose is entirely correct. The only negatives to deleting the MAF is the loss of a backup system, and the added work of properly tuning an SD setup. Make no mistake about it. Going SD is usually not going to cause any problems, but if you are one of those people that chases the last 2 or 3 percent corrections in your tune, then you will take forever to finish your tune.

Thanks for the reply, I also talked to the guy that's gonna tune my car and he also said we'll go SD. Only thing now is trying to figure out how to connect my tb to my lid with a straight pipe. It has to reduce from I believe 4.5" to 3.5" but I can't find any reducers that are long enough 6" unless I piece one together.

It depends on how much power you are making and what the rest of your mods are?

Here's what I have on mine...SLP lid and WARR 92mm TB...

https://www.intakehoses.com/mm5/merc...Code=22B-400X4

Had to cut/trim the length down a little, but fits and works great

You're welcome.
Word of advice...trim a little at a time...dont be all gung ho like I was, and cut off too much, lol.

I actually just swapped on a Nitrous Outlet plate (3/4" thick) and an 85mm MAF just to try it out...That is a ridiculously tight squeeze...especially since I have a standard SLP lid so had to get a 2" sleeve to connect MAF to LID...

About how long is it? I noticed it doesn't state the length but I do need 6"

I wanna say 8"?
I can't swear to it, but know with a stock TB and slp lid, it still needed trimming. Then when I swapped on the LS2 intake and WARR TB, had to trim again, and now, with nitrous plate, I'd have to trim yet again.

The link is the exact one I ordered, so I know you'll be fine
