Default In need of some direction

So I'm looking to get into tuning, and while the tuning guides are great for actually tuning, they're somewhat limited when it comes to what you actually need to get the ball rolling.

I was looking at purchasing HPTuners, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do much at the moment. As I understand it, the MPVI2 currently won't accept analog wideband inputs until the pro version comes out (which seems to be constantly delayed) and the only wideband any post or guide references in the AEM 30-0334, which looks like it only works via the OBD2, which of course wouldn't work with my Camaro.

So, can anyone help point me in the right direction? Or at least point me to a guide that explains a lot of the jargon and can help a newbie get going?

Thanks

The MPVI2 is apparently not really ready for anything, according to what I have been reading. Never buy brand new generation hardware or software. HPtuners is great, but just remember that the previous generation of hardware has been fine for over a decade. You should read all of the stickies in every forum you can find, then look up all of the tuning books you can that teach general engine theory. If you read up a little on electronic controls and software that could help too. You could learn to tune a car in a few hours. You could spend a lifetime really understanding what you are doing.

I'd be all over the MPVI Pro if it was available for sale anywhere lol. Guess HPTuners really wanted to put the cart before the horse with this one.

I'll take a look at those books, thanks!

Getting ready to jump myself. But HPT is more pervasive. Like using Linux in a windows world.
