Advanced Auto, says GMC is throwing P0135 PO155 & P0300 codes.
Its a 2000 GMC Safari with over 500,000 miles (used in a pilot car business). Ran great, lots of work in it. The it suddenly began running rough. Mechanic says it needs a new engine. But it doesn't run like it. According to the codes it may need 2 sensors and that there is misfiring.
Any ideas before this great vehicle is scrapped for parts? It's been well taken care of and runs even better at a faster speed. I say check all that you would in a major tuneup to see if that fixes it...after you replace the O2 sensors.
Any different ideas?

Did the mechanic say WHY it needs a new engine? Did he do additional troubleshooting to come to that conclusion? Compression and/or leak down test? Replacing the usual wear parts is normally a safe bet, but if there’s more to the story it would be good to know up front. Low/no compression would change the way I approach the repair and the P0300 is a bit concerning based on mileage. You may opt to not buy new 02 sensors if the misfire is from engine wear.
