ECM and VATS concern
Hey guys what's up? First I just wanna say that if this is in the wrong spot I'm sorry, please move to the right spot, I'm still a rookie to the site. I'm gettin ready to put the motor/trans/ECM into my '98 trans am roller. My donor vehicle is my '98 camaro. Been doing a ton of reading and a red flag kinda popped up. Started doing research to the point I have a headache from reading. My red flag that comes up is VATS...is this gonna be an issue. Been reading that the BCM's are vin'd to the ECM and since the ECM is now different is this gonna be a problem and result in the vehicle not starting. Do I need to get my ECM VIN'd to the trans am? I'm using the ECM out of the camaro cause its already tuned to the motor and I already sold the stock motor/trans/ECM out of the trans am. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm completely confused on this one lol

1- Switch ignition ON (don't crank it) leave it ON for 10 min. Don't touch anything else.
2- After 10 min the SECURITY bulb will go OFF.
3- Turn switch OFF for 10 seconds.
Repeat 1-3 for a total of 3 times. Last step leave switch OFF for 1 minute then crank it, it should start.
2- After 10 min the SECURITY bulb will go OFF.
3- Turn switch OFF for 10 seconds.
Repeat 1-3 for a total of 3 times. Last step leave switch OFF for 1 minute then crank it, it should start.

30min relearn does not work on passkey 1, you may have to do a vats key relearn. but it may work as long as you have the bcm that came with the car. it only needs to see the right chip key then it sends a signal to enable the starter relay and ecm.
