Default Using pin 44 for reverse lights

I have a 99 ls1 in a 1990 RX7 with a 4L60E. I do not have the reverse light / neutral safety switch at the transmission. Is there a way to use pin 44 at the PCM which is for the reverse lock out solenoid control to control the reverse lights? Anyone try this?
