Opinions on choosing a tuner My options are fairly limited as I live in Canada. I just added LTs and an LS6 intake manifold to my 6 speed, 2000 Trans Am. Here is what I am debating between. There is a local tuner (would still have to mail it but he is close) who charges $150 CAD for a tune. Seems he does a good job based on the reputation around the area. The price is certainly right.
I have a diablo intune and for $210 CAD I can get diablew to tune it. This comes with access to having it retuned.
I checked on on a local dyno tune and all 3 shops I called want $1000. I’m not spending this much! If I need to mail my pcm into the US, it will cost me approximately $150CAD on top of the cost of the tune and the pcm will likely be out of the car for 10 days at least (due to shipping across the border).
What would you do?

The diablo may have a lock on there tune, u may have to return pcm back to stock if u decide to send it out. If it was me I would invest in hp tuners. This gives u lots of room to grow and if u have friends/family that need tuning it pays for itself.
Simple setup like tht, your best option is a mail order tune. If u had a decent tuner tht was local to u an inperson tune would possibly drive better and make more power. Ever car is diff, so its always better with a live tune ( as long as the tuner knows what he is doing).
