4l60e TCC not connected - does work when connected Hopefully I will get some feedback on this. I have a 1966 Chevelle with a 2002 Camaro SS engine, transmission, harness, and computer. I read about putting a switch in to manually control when the torque converter locks, when I looked into mine, I discovered that the purple wire in pin 33 is not even connected. With it not connected, my understanding is that the torque converter should never lock up? I would like to make my torque converter not lock around town, how can I do this? I know the computer can be tuned to work without the TCC brake control wire hooked up, but cannot be programmed to ignore it completely? How come my TC locks without the TCC Brake input hooked up at all, shouldn’t it always be unlocked?
There is NO PURPLE wire related to TCC lock up for the 4L60E.. Maybe that is why no one is responding.. There is a BLACK wire, and Tan/blk wire. In your trans connector they are in pin locations T & U................ Why do you not want the T/C to lock around town? What do you think you are accomplishing by not having it lock around town?
Please, just leave the wiring alone. Do NOT install a switch. You can easily go into the settings with HP Tuners and set up the T/C so that it does not lock up until what ever speed you choose, and in whatever gears you choose. For example-you could set it up in the tune to ONLY lock up at speeds of 60MPH or greater, and only in 4th gear. Then, you can cruise in town all you like but the computer will never lock up the T/C until speeds of 60 or more, and then ONLY when in 4th gear. If the trans kicks down into 3rd, or 2nd, and your speeds are in excess of 60 it still will not lock the T/C until the trans is in 4th.......
