I have a 80 T/A and a 03 Yukon 4wd as a donor. Also have a mid 90s LT1 4l60e I’m hoping to use. The plan was to carb the 5.3 and hopefully use the stock 0411 to control the transmission. Has anybody ever done this? I prefer not to get a standalone I’m not familiar with when I have hptuners.

It has been done but I dont think the 4l60 will work unless 96 or newer. Its somewhere around there where they wont work, Its been years since we had that come up.

I think it would be a lot easier to use the MSD Atomic trans controller. Just my .02

Super easy to setup with the handheld.

The last time I rigged up something of that nature, the hardest part was incorporating a TPS onto the carb.

TCI makes a really nice remote TPS sensor. We put Sniper EFI on a BBC on a 94 burb. It had a 4l80e. Used that remote TPS sensor and the Atomic and it worked great.

The one I was messing with was an old big block dually with a bad TBI setup. Instead of buying anything other than a carb, we just rigged up the old TBI TPS. The carb and new gasket were literally the only things purchased.Even used a FPR that was laying around from who knows when to cut down fuel pressure.
