Default OS conversion for Flex fuel, lean cruise, ect.

If you have your stock tune file and you find a stock file from a newer year vehicle with the exact same controller.

(p01 GM Gen3 V8, 4.3L V6)

Can you simply license the file you found and do a write entire to get the OS from that newer vehicle?

Trying to get a few features into my 1999 that are in a 2002.

Lean cruise, PE ramp in rate, ect.

I'm assuming I'd need to; Write entire back to my stock tune from the 2 bar OS modification it currently has on it.

Then write entire with the tune from the newer vehicle.

And after that I could go ahead and add the 2 bar OS modification back on to the newer OS.

Would this work or not?

I am not 100% sure, but as far as it having a 2 bar on it, I believe you have to have it back to original to do that. As far as lean cruise, the only setup I have even kind of heard that works in the US is the 04 gto. That's 1 thread, and that's the only 1 I've ever heard of in the US.

You should be able to just write entire the 02 SD OS. Write entire blanks out the whole thing anyway.

I run a 02 OS on a 99. I did it for the rolling idle tables. I was able to get lean cruise to work, but when I went full on OLSD I just used the VE and multiplier tables to make it lean in the cruising ranges.

Awesome, that's what I was hoping to hear.
so there was no re-pining anything in the harnesses?
What about VATS? Did you have to do the re learn procedure or was it not an issue?

99-02 do not require a repin, so you're good there. I disabled VATS, but that was due to a BCM failure. I was out logging, stopped for fuel, car would not crank back up, disabled VATS, car started, never looked back. Was at least three years ago now.
