Unhappy Instruments go haywire, momentary power loss on hard launch !

First race this year, car ran fine off the trailer, normal performance. Second run about 10ft out sudden power loss, instruments haywire and warning lamps flashing, lasted about 1 or 2 seconds then car took off as if nothing happened through rest of the run. I checked the obvious, battery terminals , alternator charge ( no load ) checked for bad grounds that I could find......nothing. Took it out on the street and wheel spun but ran fine, back on the track with good traction and positive hook .... same thing ????? Anybody had this happen or any suggestions, Thanks in Advance

Here is my money bet, the battery is not totally secure and is rocking back on a hard launch and the positive battery terminal is touching the A/C condenser.

My car was/ is doing something similar on full-throttle pulls (instrument cluster goes dead, A/C blower stops working, exterior lights turn off).
Alternator regulator is wigging out at high rpms.

I hooked a jumper wire to my alternator stud, then ran it into the car where my DVOM was.

Sure enough, once I got to 5K, voltage jumped to 18V, and everything started acting weird.
I'd check that out.

Either battery post shorting to AC condenser as said above or a loose ground wire on the back of the head make intermittent connection.

Absolutely correct........................Thank you
That was the problem, The battery bottom clamp was tight, but the battery could still rock back and short on the A/C Filter dryer bracket !

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR INPUT .
