What’s yours thoughts on speed density tune????
A little bit about my set up is
419 stroker
m311 heads compression should be at 11:8.1
holley high ram intake port match runners
112 mm TB
5” air intake e85 fbo
nitrous express Holley plate kit thinking about spraying 250 shot
My air intake will be something like this but in a 5” pipe.
my previous set up I was using a 4” air intake 0821 heads no nitrous 102mm TB but now that I’m switching to 5” and heads 112mm my tuner told me the best thing to do is speed density but idk how is going to work out. Or what to watch out for. This is my Friday street racing truck/ Friday/Saturday take it to work not a daily by any means!

I just tuned a 408 in speed density. I dont see any cons to it. The pluses are its more responsive and the tuning process takes less time. I tune most stuff thats highly modded in speed density. Its easier and it works just as well. I had issues using the maf in my car initially. For some reason at idle it had turbulence and the idle wasnt as stable as I liked. I know alot more about tuning now and I'm sure I could do better, but I prefer speed density.
I’ve two LS cars.
Vette is NA, MAF Tune. Performs flawlessly. Very responsive.
Nova is SD 3 bar. Performs flawlessly. Ditto on the response. Not a candidate for MAF tune.

also, a proper cal, SD or MAF, shouldnt require chages with temperature or elevation.
