Emissions tune This May be a dumb question but I don’t know much about tuning. I have a 2001 camaro ss. I need to get it to pass emissions. Is it possible to order another ecu and have that tuned to pass emissions and just swap it out whenever I need to do an emissions test. If not who do you all recommend for a tuner that you mail in your ecu and they send it back tuned how you want after you tell them your mods.
What all is done to the car?
you can make it so the car won’t report issues via check engine light for stuff like rear o2s and egr etc.
the challenge is that you may encounter “not ready” self tests which will also not allow you to pass. (I think you used to be allowed 1 not ready)
there is a way in the tune to have those tests report as complete/pass but it has to do with disabling all emissions related codes. (You can search for that here.)
Without knowing the extent of your mods or what caused you to fail the test, it will be hard to resolve.
