Default IAC counts while cruising

After light driving for 10 minutes my headers glow orange. No vacuum leaks, no ultra lean condition. I want to contribute it to my IAC counts while driving. What should they be while cruising? I read somewhere they should be 0/closed. If so, what needs to be changed? tune & log attached

Either your timing is retarded and/or AFR is way too lean.

This.

Also IIRC, the IAC goes to it's park position off idle. 160 counts sounds right for some reason but don't quote me on that.

However looking at the log, it doesn't seem over lean or the timing retarded.

What would make the headers glow after 10 minutes?

Everytime I have ever seen it, it was due to timing because the burn was happening in the exhaust instead of the combustion chamber.

Hopefully someone smarter than me will chime in.

Anybody have a log of their IAC counts and tps while driving around?

I'm convinced the IAC is the reason, when I command it lower the manifolds are less red, but then I have to uncommand to let it go back up when coming to a stop.

Just trying to find the parameter that is increasing my IAC counts with more throttle rather than taking them away. Sounds like a table is inverted?

It is definitely under-sparked. Your IAC should not return to 0 while driving - it is opening up to provide airflow for when you do let off the throttle. Cutting off all air would cause a number of issues, so it needs to be open while you drive. But that spark on the low end is a bit weak. MBT is going to be much higher at low engine speed if you run a larger camshaft, so you have to add spark in to compensate. There is a ton of noisy stuff happening here too, though...Your idle airflow and spark control are far too aggressive. Half the time at idle you're at 8 degrees of spark, which is definitely going to heat the headers up. Lot of oscillation like that can trigger transient fuel as well, which is just going to cause problems in your case.

Honestly...there's a lot at issue here. Instead of writing a wall of text, let me know if you need help with this.

if the iac being open was causing it, it would be extremely lean. Your iac is not causing your headers to glow. If your iac is at 0 during cruise and you suddenly let off the pedal, especially at parking lot or low speeds, you will have a huge dip and/or surge. Your timing is too low. add 10 degrees and see what happens. my guess is the crank sensor is off.
