Computer question I'm having problems with my car and I suspect that the computer is going bad. My question is, could a pull a computer out of another vehicle that has the same computer in it and put it in my car long enough to check for spark coming from the coils? Right now I don't have spark on 1, 3, 5 or 7. I've tried 2 other sets of coil packs, checked fuses, added grounds etc... This is on a 09 G8 GT. My nephew has an 08 Yukon Denali. If I pull his computer and put it in my car will it mess up his computer? Will it even talk to everything in my car, or at least the systems I need to start it for 10 seconds? I hate to go buy a computer for $350 just to see if that's the problem, but I also don't want to screw up his vehicle and have to pay to fix it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Do you have a schematic for the ignition coils? How have you verified the voltage and ground supplying the coils? Do you have a test light to see the PCM grounding the coils so they can fire? Check the right side (even coils) as reference.
