New ECU

I have a new ecu which is programmed for my vin. It came with instructions of a key off/on sequence for the security and key fob programming.

I want to install this and not screw it up lol

Can I install new ecu and start with a read entire then disable vats and write to get around the key off/on sequence in the instructions they sent? Then change operating system to 2 bar sd and write entire again? From there I can copy and paste over all my changes done with my current tune?

The key on, key off sequence is only to match the PCM to the BCM. Most of the time, I've never had to do it
