PCM interchageability?
Guys,
When replacing PCM's does the transmission matter?
I plan on getting one for my lt4 m6 car and would like to know if a lt1 auto donor car will work?

If the new PCM is the P01 (red/blue connectors) or P59 (green/blue), you can reflash it with software that will be happy with a manual transmission.

My apologies for not being very clear. I am working on a 96 z24 that has a lt4 engine and would like to get a back up pcm to flash once I do the stroker build. I’d like to keep a stock program for California smog reasons

A stock program will not work with a stroker engine.
All they look at now is if any codes show, plus a visual on the engine to check for any non-exempt stuff like headers or air intakes. If CARB approved, it's good.
