0411 timing

Default 0411 timing

I'm using a 0411 ecu to control my ford Cleveland, which I've only just got started, I'm trying to dial it in a little before getting it tuned

The idle timing when at start up is at 20btdc which is what I want but it drops back close to zero after a couple of seconds after start.

My idle is to high, so does the ecu use timing as well as the IAC to control idle speed - thinking that if the IAC can't bring the idle down low enough that maybe it's reducing timing as well ? Cheers Jason

That is start flare control. You have to wait until there is vacuum in the manifold to start using the IAC so that's why its all spark at first

So you're saying it's advancing the timing on start up and drops back to what the running idle timing is ? The idle is high so it shouldn't need to flair advance the timing to achieve idle but I guess that set in the setting

Flare means high RPM. It's retarding spark to control it. It's temporary though. It will approach idle spark shortly after the start.
