Need seed key to unlock stock pcm
Hey folks, Im swapping a 3800sc from an 03 park ave and I cant get to the bin file. Says I need a seed key to unlock. The car I got it from was bone stock so I doubt its had any tuning done to the pcm. Heres what I get on pcm hammer

I've never seen that OSID before. It might be a rarely-used factory OS but it might also be from HPT, EfiLive, or some handheld programmer.
It's also a little weird for the BCC query to fail, but that doesn't affect anything since the app doesn't use the BCC value for anything. I just threw it in there in case someone would have a use for it.
You can probably skip the seed/key step by grounding a pin on the back of the PCM's PCB for a couple seconds, as shown in this video:

Just getting back to this and other things, had surgery on my hand and its still in a cast. I got rid of the obdlink sx and got an obdxpro, still jammed up on the seed key. Thanks for making that video! I opened up the pcm and couldnt find the pin to ground, my board looks different. I took some pics of it, it has an intel chip. Could I write a new stock l67 tune to this without getting the original bin file?

If you're using PCM Hammer, press the "Get Properties" button and post the operating system ID. I'll see if it's something from GM or something aftermarket.
