Default LS3 DBW issue I’m having with my ride…

Hi…I built my 69 Camaro SS from an empty shell by myself… I used a JEGS LS3/525 crate motor with everything pedal/harness etc..and a Tremic 6 and this has happened to me now 4 times , the first three times it wasn’t a big deal I just pulled to the side.. but yesterdays wasn’t fun because I was first car in the turn lane with a long line behind me…what happens is I’ll be driving along or like yesterday I guess coasting to the stop light ..and all of a sudden I have no acceleration pedal the car just idles pedal does zero.. so I’m not losing any car controls just have no gas . Thru my experiences I found that if I disconnect the negative cable for a few seconds and rehook it will start working again and these events occurred with quite a bit of time in between them with various lengths of time ...this time I checked to see if it thru a code and it did a P2138…throttle/pedal position sensor switch “D”/‘E” voltage correlation..what ever that means..lol..and I wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so how I go about fixing this problem any ideals where to start would be appreciated…and I do have the freeze data from the scanner if necessary…thanks..

Have you checked to make sure all of your connections are pushed in all the way. I have had a few connectors(namely my AC delco alternator and weather pack) come loose when driving and stop charging

HI, I have had the same thing happen (not while driving though) I have no pedal and I get a similar code. I THINK I have fixed it by "retracing" the wires (6 wires) from the ECM to the physical pedal connector. it did appear that one connector was not completely connected & after revisting the 2 connection points for the wires I believe it is fixed. I have not had the issue show since. in short I would recheck all the wire connections & unplug/replug each one to make sure there is a good connection & then try again, if after that it still shows up then it might be a physical part ??

good luck & please update as you go...

yea I been all through the plugs and physically check all the wires to see if one might of got pinched or loosened at the connectors but everything looks right and tight I’ve got like 1700 miles on it since I finished the build and it happens under completely different situations every time with quite a bit of time in between events which is the part I don’t get you would think if it’s a mechanical problem it would happen more often and under similar circumstances …IDK …at least it’s an easy fix and I don’t really drive it much in a lot of traffic Las Vegas has quite a few lost visiting drivers that make stupid quick moves that have cost me a couple of my daily driver cars already and I’ve got way to much work and cash in the Camaro to let that happen to it …thanks for the ideals though…
