Default Weird issue obd issue...

Was wondering if anybody has ever ran into this issue:

1998 PCM. The tuner has tuned SEVERAL 1998s in the past and has never encountered this issue before. Frost wrote a mail order tune on my pcm a couple months ago with no issue.

When my tuner attempts to write updated fuel injector data to the pcm it appears that it works, but then it doesn't save the data and he gets an EEprom error message and the car won't start.. He can see all of my data otherwise, with HP Tuners and his scan tool.

Coincidentally, I have been having issues getting both of my Aeroforce gauges to work at the same time. There is only enough power at the OBD port to power 1 gauge at a time.

Anyone experienced such a thing? Tuner has not attempted to troubleshoot as of yet. I have full 100% confidence he will figure it out. He's thinking maybe a ground issue. I'm just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Just to clarify, the port isn't powering gauges. They are on 12v switched. But the port doesn't have enough "power" to display data to both gauges at the same time. Aeroforce tech has never had an issue like that before.

What's the voltage at the OBD connector?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure but based upon all of the tuners findings this week he's determined the PCM is the source of the problem. He's installing a newer 0411 PCM and re-pinning everything tomorrow. Hopefully that's all. That's been planned for awhile anyway for obvious issues with the 98 pcm.. just wasn't ready for that one lol. Weird issue..

And another 98 PCM bites the dust.

Apparently. For all intents and purposes it was fine unless trying to write to it or pull data with y splitter.
