I don't post on here often, but this is something that needs more attention in the US. I mostly hang out on the pcm hacking forums and have recently been working with a Australian guy named Richard. Richard and his son 20 years ago developed a daughter board for P01 and P59 pcms that allows tuning in real time (similar to the road runner, but way faster) and with built in data logging capability over a rj45 Ethernet cable.
As most of you know when data logging you can only see so much.. Maybe getting 15 pids at 20 hz? Well with the real time you can log as many as you want at 160 hz! That's 160 samples a second for EVERY single PID or direct ram offset you can imagine. Yes it logs any Ram Offset you can think of. Your also not reliant on some 'company' to allow you to modify a table. You can add and modify EVERY table etc within the pcm in real time with it running. This is just a quick screen shot from idling in the driveway. Note the Second Counter and the Cylinder Counter. The red line is on first cyl count and blue is on 8 cyl count .You will never see each individual cylinder with anything else. You can actually pinpoint the exact cylinder that is knocking or whatever you need. It also tracks within the table you're modifying so you know where to edit.
There's no licensing, no limits. Just yank it out and throw it in the next car. This was released in the early 2000's mainly for tuning shops @ $10k a pop. Now that things have slowed down for my Aussie friend, and with about 80 daughter boards remaining he's selling them for less than hpt pro. There is a difference between the p01-p59 board, but only due to flash chip size. Please note that only p01-p59 apply to this, and you will have to install yourself. If you're decently compitant with a soldering iron and hot air then it's not bad.

This uses it's own software that comes with the daughter board. You can also use tunerpro or universal patcher to modify the binary then throw it into the real time. Know that within the past 20 years this has been out, there's been 0 failures of any pcms.
This isn't for everyone I know, but if your able to work with some surface mount chip removal and a bit of soldering... It's awesome. I'll get some pics of a install and explain a little more as soon as I can.

the 3bar os thread hasnt been on my radar until now unfortunately but im going to pull that down and take a peek. i dont have any 0411 cars right now but i may get one just to play with that os.
Yes there is a few different versions of the Boost OS that Bubba created. V2 works with 2156, 6125 on p01's and 7603 for the p59. V3 and v4 is only applicable to the p59 as the code grew too large.
I run v4 in my turbo truck.. has up to 4 bar fueling tables, desired lambda tables in place of power enrichment, wbo2 closed loop, launch control, no lift shift, open loop boost control maps, rev and over boost spark cut and some other things I'm forgetting.
I used a road runner when they first came out....still have one on the shelf actually. It really helped to learn new things since you could see the results of a change instantly.

This is the daughter board installed. These 3 rows of solder pads must have the solder removed to install the real times header pins. All are not necessary, only where there are pins on the daughter board. Another shot of header pads. Hole cut in case for RJ45 Ethernet cable. Used for real time updates and logging.
There are a couple other eternal mods that must be done to the case, but are very minor. Also the flash chip must be completely removed. Hot air rework station is recommended.
id be into playing with one, but ive kinda moved past 0411 stuff so it wouldnt be worth spending that much on it for me.
in general i really dont think the 0411 stuff will be very widespread outside of the hacker groups since the termx stuff came out.

0411/P59 is needed when the car needs to stay smog legal, so there is a big market atleat here for them.
good point. i have lived in florida my whole adult life so smog is not a word ive spoken before.
ive had multiple daily drivers over the years with the exhaust out the front bumper.
either way, for a couple hundred bucks id have one on the way. would be extra cool if he open sourced it.

Not to mention you can just piggyback the Holley or any aftermarket computer for that matter with the stock computer and set it up the OEM PCM where it "passes" with flying colors.
I tried and tried to get him to allow me to open source it, and I think it will go that way eventually. I am currently working with the source code to make the software do some more cool stuff. Dashboards etc. Free time is my only downfall, but I'll get it done.
