E40 ECM vs 0411 PCM

Default E40 ECM vs 0411 PCM

I have an 06 5.3 from an Envoy. I have the E40 and T42 and the harness. Now I have a guy wants that motor for a 2002 Silverado. I believe that the engine is 24tooth and 1x on the cam. Other than the knock sensors being relocated, is there any reason that it won't work with his P01 PCM?

If it's an 06, it is 24x crank and 1x cam sensor.
It still does have AFM/DOD, however, so it will need to be replaced with normal cam/valvetrain parts.
The knock sensors also still need to be the earlier type, as they are different.

Definitely will delete DOD. Knock sensors can be changed in calibration so that isn't an issue.

The ability to select knock sensor type is there, but it doesn’t work.

Much better off just relocating the stock Gen3 knock sensors to the side of the block and dealing with the sensitivity issues. Also you don't have to delete AFM/DOD at all, the valley cover just won't be hooked up and it will run on all 8 cylinders as the AFM/DOD hardware only activates when it's commanded.
