Towing: 3rd gear LOCK TCC or not ?
Question for those that tow with 4L60 ( light duty, half-ton stuff, yeah, I know... 4L-Slippy this one has 212,000 miles on, had a blower pushing 11 PSI for the last 7 years, it could grenade in the next 5 minutes... I get it ).
.
I get near zero engine braking in Direct, torque converter is pretty well freewheeling under 1800 rpm closed throttle.
The question here regards TCC lock speeds, and again, just for those that have some Towing experience, in hilly terrain:
Do you set the TCC to lock in direct for TOW/HAUL mode? How about second gear ?
Anyone have some appropriate TOW Haul TCC lockup tables / speeds or advice ?
. Stock torque converter, 2002 Tahoe, 4.56 axle ratios.
. Thanks.
MODS: move to appropriate sub forum if necessary.
Thanks.
