Default Battery disconnect with Holley

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put it, so please let me know if I need to move this thread. I have the battery mounted in the trunk of my car. There is a zero gauge power and ground wire going up to distribution blocks in the front where it connects to the Holley computer. I wired the disconnect to the Positive side of the battery as recommended in the directions. When I flip the switch, though, the car doesn't shut off. What do I have hooked up wrong?

There are a few ways this can be handled, but the actual problem is that you are not disconnecting the alternator. With the engine running, you can pull the battery completely out of most cars and they will still run off the alternator. If you are trying to comply with track rules, I would suggest a search on that topic specifically.
