Hey gang, my buddy got his car custom tuned last month and it ran fantastic. He had an error code for the maf sensor and his tuner said it wasn't being used but is still hooked up. I got into the computer with my HP tuners and changed the error mode to "No Error Reported" and unchecked the SES enable. He said his idle is all over the place now. Could this be from turning off an error code or is it just the colder temps this month that have changed the way his car idles now.
If you are not using the MAF, it MUST be disabled. When you set it to "no error reported", it will NOT disable. You need to set it back to "mil on first error". You can leave SES unchecked in order to keep the light off, but you have to allow the MAF to fail.
No problem. That is an extremely common error. And I mean both the SES light getting left on by a tuner, and someone trying to fix it by changing to no error reported. Happens all the time.
