Default Dakota Digital/ Terminator X Check engine light connection

Hello,

I am new to the forum and want to start off by saying hello to everyone. Hopping I can learn a lot from everyone here. I have just installed my LS1 in my 71 Chevelle with new AAW, Terminator X Max and Dakota Digital RTX. The question that I have is can I just connect the output#3 from terminator x to my Dakota digital engine spot on the main box to get my check engine light to work. Right now its not coming on because I have nothing connected to it. I also Have the BIM module that sends info to the DD. The output# is set for AC/ kick down, but can I just connect that Gray/BLK wire to the engine plug of the DD box or do I have to go into the software and change settings.

Thank you.

Thank you for responding I will do that. I did speak with a rep from Holly who said that output cant be used for just general faults like, Lose gas cap, misfire, falling injector. I was told it can only be used for oil pressure warning light, low fuel warning light, just a lot of things I already have on my Dakota Digital dash.
