I think someone here has had this problem! I am a heavy truck and equipment guy, Detroit, Cat, Cummins and related software, but this I need to reach out

I have a Terminator X Max that was bought new in 2020, for a project, that has been repurposed into a different project, that is close to running. LS3, not looking to start it yet, no oil system!

I bought, a few weeks ago a Holley EFI Pro dash, and bought ( why they don't come with it) the Holley dongle/cable to hook up a laptop to the Terminator. I had asked Holley Tech, just to be sure, the pro dash part number , purchased was compatible with my ecu, and was told to update firmware in ECU. After some upload problems, I updated the SD card, updated the 3.5 screen and updated to version 3 firmware to the Terminator. I have a good, clean dedicated 12 volt power and ground, right off the battery and have a clean switched power. The terminator comes on, lights on top light, pro dash powers up and can communication is there. With laptop logged in, "disco lights" cycle through...Here is the problem(s)

The first thing is that the throttle will not calibrate and is missing voltage differential ( i have to check the extension cable for proper wire assignments) but is is a Holley Throttle pedal.

Next is the lights on the terminator body: #1 is green but not solid...bright then dims a little then bright then dims a little, never stops, with can connected or not , laptop, no laptop

Light 4 stays red. I read it's a calibration error. This was there before I updated firmware and remains on solid

With laptop and V3 software, I can talk to the ECU, I see voltage, wire read only assignments, can turn the fuel pump relay on and off, but don't see water temp, MAT, or anything else, Is this because it wasn't showing any RPM?

The V3 software has a full toolbar, with half of it shadowed out and when logged into the ECU, the shadowed toolbar goes away and it's missing for example IO assignments, like I want to assign some wires but nowhere to do that. It doesn't match anything I see online to do this V3 shows it has no updates available

Am I missing something here??

I had a revelation at about 2:00am ..went downstairs and realized the ECU had no tune, after firmware update..I installed a base cal and now I can do a lot, and see some temp values, just to see if I was communicating with the ecu

I still have a #1 light cycling from bright to dim and a solid red #4 light..I did not yet calibrate throttle, however, when asked to calibrate it went right past that screen on it's own through the 3.5 screen., onto the next steps .I also read on the "USB link" and "online" differences, which I would not think there would be an option

 

Does the firmware on the dash match the firmware on the ECU??

 

Yes, both are version 3 110
