Inconsistent BRAF and IAC steps w/cold start vs hot start...data logs attached
The car is a 02 WS6, Procharged, SD tuned, Blower cam, e85. The car is great other than this issue: I'm trying to get my cold starts dialed in and
When I start the car, first start of the day....or any Cold start, the BRAF and IAC steps are very high and continue to stay high even when it gets to operating temps at 180-190 degrees. The STIT are adding like 45-50lb/hr and the IAC steps are 145 at 185 degrees.
Then I will shut the car off for literally 30 seconds, start it back up and start scanning, and the BRAF and IAC steps are basically perfect at 45 steps. Zero change to the tune. My STFT are within 1% at idle.
What in the world would cause this? At first thought was the IAC sensor, since I think its the original sensor so then I installed a cheap Ebay IAC sensor, same issues....then installed a Delphi IAC sensor....same issue.

I dunno, but it might be interesting to look at the ignition timing in both scenarios. I wonder if you'll find that high IAC goes hand-in-hand with retarded timing, and low IAC goes with more advanced timing?
But even if that is the case, I don't know what I'd do with that information.
