Can U Reflash A Ecm With A Different Vin # Just as the title says can you reflash it with a different vin #, Im curious cause i went back to stock except that my vin is programed with 273 gears and i currently have 342s , I dont want the speedo to be off alot so i was thinkin i would try a vin # that had 323s for the car, DOES ANYONE HAVE A VIN AND CAN THIS BE DONE>>>>>>>>>thanks
The dealership will flash any PCM to match your VIN
but that has nothing to do with changing gear ratios.
Any tuning program, or even a Predator can do that
though. But with the Predator you will have to take
a roundabout way to do it (like tell it a bogus tire
size that just happens to make the right result).
If you don't have a local HPTuners-owning buddy,
then your next cheapest alternative might be a
dealership visit and have them just reset the gear
ratio with their equipment (most outside tuning
pros get a lot more than 1 hour of shop rates for
a full tune, but then again maybe you can find
someone who'll do a "quickie" on a slow day).
