Your best bet would be to buy a PCMCIA serial card (they can get pricey though

Should apply since the programs are just accessing the serial port. The keyspan have more consistant drivers than some of the others.

Quatech sells the exact model # and brand as what is recommended by some but a from a different reseller and about $50 less. And they have excellent service. Got mine in about 3 days with email tracking.

FWIW, I could not get my Belkin unit to work with LS1Edit either.
Works fine with LT1Edit & TTS Datamaster tho. But my laptop has a serial port on it - I was just playin' around.Carputing is working on a new USB cable. It'll be a couple months before it's ready though. It's a total redesign.
