Default PCM read time

Im using LS1edit through a Keyspan usb->serial adapter and it is taking FOREVER to download the PCM flash file, on the order of 2 hours. Is anyone using the same setup or have any suggetions? I am really frustrated cuz I havent gotten a whole read in yet because it just takes too damn long

Thanks
-Mario

damn.. edit does take forever to read.. but usually only took me about 20 minutes...

HPT takes about 2 minutes ...

If it's taking that long w/your edit... I'd think it's a problem w/ the keyspan (DO NOT try writing w/that if you ever do get a full read... ) unit....

I would do a few things
#1 uninstall and reinstall LS1 Edit
if it still fails to read
#2 borrow a friends laptop w/a REAL serial port...
if that works
#3 get a laptop w/a REAL serial port....

A PCMCIA serial card may work better as well.

I do not use a USB adapter, but the product that I use does not have an issue with them.

I believe a PCMCIA card will work very well for you.

If I were to put Win2000 on my current laptop I'd have to partition my HD...what a PITA that's gonna be...better than spending &60 on a PCMCIA card right away though...
