Tuning timing
For those that seen the stock timing tables, it's a mess. Goes up and down and up and down. Most of the lines seem to peak around 4K then drop down and level off at the end. Should I keep that general trend when adding timing. Or should I just add more in higher RPM so that it's an always increasing curve? If you guys have some fine tuned timing tables, I'd love to see them. Thanks.

I pushed up everything that was declining, to flat-line
instead with no trouble; upped it from there until I got
into ping. I set the KR attack lower and the recovery
higher and the car would stay in very light ping when
over-advanced. I went through about half a dozen
tune cycles upping timing by a degree, everywhere
the histogram -didn't- show KR on the last pull, until
I had "populated" a spark table with 1 degree KR
all over it in mid-high load, and mid-high RPM. That
having found me my "ping limit", my last two tunes
I took out 1 degree globally (left a few "pockets of
resistance") and another (all quiet on the Eastern
front).
I think the proper timing table for you will depend
a whole lot on the engine particulars mechanical,
and other setting like where you allow PE to kick
in, and like that. However here is the flavor of the
week (high octane table; low octane is -4 across
the board, from that):
