Default Dropping Idle Speed

Gear-525
Gear-540
P/N-575
P/N-590

I dropped all by 15rpm.

Question is:

What idle/air tables should I increase/decrease?

If I'm running less rpm, should I drop IDLE AIRFLOW/ETC by a small amount?

I'm not concerned with the way its running, more than I'd like to understand. More rpm=more air needed, Less rpm=less air needed. Correct?

Thanks.

I would log what the idle airflow really is, and then
put a similar value in the table. I've seen one of the
HPTuners guys recommend that air value be slightly
higher than what you see at stopped idle.

Hey Jimmy what PID would you use to find out the what idle airflow "realy is?"

I just look at the MAF gm/sec (if you read lb/min, scale it).
It may be a bit off, but I set it to what it "thinks" is going
on for airflow since I figure that's what it will try to servo
back to, when it tries to close idle loop on that airflow
basis, accurate or not.

There may be some other airflow PID that can be gotten
out of the PCM when you are running MAFless. I just
have no idea what it would be, or whether it's one the
HPTuners scanners lets you pick. Perhaps a worthwhile
question and/or feature request, the actual airflow is a
useful thing to know.

If the MAF is unplugged do you get any "live" results
on the Mass Air Flow (g/sec) PID?

You can still use the dynamic airflow PID without using your MAF. The MAF pid just reads like 0.31 the whole time if it's unplugged.

is there a way to host other PID's in anything but the chart display? when, i custom fit what i want to monitor and then include kr & timing for example. They wont appear in the histogram display?

Just a note, my dynamic airflow PID (which is what you need to use for MAFLESS tuning, and remove the MAF PID) usually does not work right without the dynamic cylinder air PID being recorded too. It could just be my computer too though I suppose.

Mine seems to work right. Maybe it's a 98 thing.
