Default Reality Check, PE = WOT only?

Just a quick reality check.
Is PE Mode used during WOT only?

Also, if related could someone give me a quick refresher on open loop and closed loop definitions?

TIA!

Yes, PE is only used when the WOT threshold is passed, which is like 64% throttle at low rpms and 26% at high rpms.

Open loop means the pcm doesn't adjust fueling based on the o2 readings, closed loop means it does adjust.

WOT means different things in different places.
There is a PE enable threshold %TPS and MAP.
TPS is as described. But the trans tables think
TPS is >94%. You can make it what you want.

Open loop fueling tables also enrich fueling on
a continuous MAP basis while PE enriches only
when TPS and MAP are satisfied, by RPM. I haven't
found any description of non-PE ways to enter
open loop mode dynamically (only "static",
temperature enable and like that).
