EFILive tuner....how do you like it?
"First rate workmanship. I'd call it "medical grade" and that's about where my level of (electronic design) experience is. (When you are drilling holes in patient's brains and implanting electrodes to monitor epilepsy surgery, there is little room for error!) "
"(The) FlashScan unit - it's truly "Plug-n-Play""
"Programming and retreiving data makes sense and getting logged data from FlashScan is simple. "
...and as for the Tuning Tool, well, it's doing what it's supposed to do....

Does it have any output control capability?
Does it actually have an medical or mil spec grade parts inside it, or is it just the normal multi layer surface mount construction?
Not that I have any intentions of tuning my car in an operating room. I am more concerned with durability and failure rate.

Well one would hope so.
I tried the demo and got my mouse too close to a 2D table window and clicked on it. I destroyed the data on that table. Maybe you guys could clean that up before you release it.
I also could not find any way to edit the 3D table graphic. Is that not possible?
Thanks,
Zippy
Hey Zippy, your mouse got too close to the 2D table and destroyed the data!!, here's a hint, they work best when on your desk, not on the monitor.
Or click "Revert" to revert the table back to it's original state.
The keyboard is far more accurate for editing 3D surface maps than trying to drag a point with the mouse. Especially sitting in a vehicle with a touchpad or mouse stick.
Use the arrow keys to move the selected cell around the surface map.
Use the Shift+Arrow keys to select multiple cells.
Use F8 and Ctrl+F8 to increase/decrease the selected cell(s) by 1
Use F7 and Ctrl+F7 to increase/decrease the selected cells(s) by 0.1
Use Ctrl+= and Ctrl+- to increase/decreae the selected cells by the currently selected precision.

There are built in alarms, but beyond that, one must remember the right pedal means go, clockwise is right, and the engine goes "vroom vroom".

Parts may be, but none of the aforementioned certs or qualifications were specified, however the fab house meets ISO 9001 and IPC-610 standards.
Feel free to post any further comments or suggestions at the EFILive message boards.

I am thinking about upgrading to the new version when it comes out.

I highly recommend the product.

I still expect I'll have my laptop most of the time, though. I usually edit my tune between each run.
The interface is designed the way a windows program oughta be. The programmers are tight and on top of every reported problem. If they are HALF as responsive to customers, the support should be second to none.
I'm excited about using it, and I'm glad there are more choices out there, now.
I have Autotap, Superchips programmer, LS1-Edit, EFILive5 and EFILive6 and now EFILive7/Flashscan. This package makes me the happiest I've been in a long time. I've spent the year trying to make my setup reliable. I hope to lock it in for my goal of mid 10's and still street-driven.
