Should I start considering something other than the stock PCM?
I'm finally starting to get to the point with my car that I'm not sure if it's worth constantly adding on seperate controllers/interfaces.
PCM Editing
Datalogging Both for $650
4L80-E Transmission controller (coming within 12 months) $670
Wideband (also coming within 12 months) $425+
Nitrous controller
Add all of the above up and it's $1700-1800
Units like the Bigstuff 3 are selling for around $2200, ready for a wideband on each bank.
At what point is it worth it to just make the switch?
If it depends on what I'm doing to the car, then:
LS2 402 stroker
4L80-E Transmission
Wideband O2
12 bolt rear
Dual stage nitrous (250rwhp max)

Unless you are going turbo, I'd stick with stock.
$2200 is just for the box, then you have install and tuning after that. Depending on what you can do, that is either money or time.
You can get a wideband with readout for about $300 (PLX) or less without a readout.
The new HPTuners will also be able to control nitrous, and I hear they are working on adapting a 3 bar MAP sensor in there.
I almost went with a standalone on my setup, but it just didn't make sense considering the massive amount of support there is for the tuning the stock PCM. And the stock PCM has tons of capabilities.
Regardings the vintage of your PCM- do you already have a tuning program? If not you can get an updated PCM (like 2002 model) then buy HPTuner for that year.
