Default Torque Management ? Does anyone know

Does anyone know if torque management turns off when you turn off ASR? This is a 2002 Camaro SS with an A4. I have had the car on the track and always ran it down the track with ASR turned off. I always got tire spin between shifts. I recently installed a Magnaflow catback and took it out for a spin. I am sure ASR was on and it seemed to bog between the 1 - 2 shift at WOT. Does anyone know if the lower back pressure makes torque management more noticeable for some odd reason? Does turning off ASR on cars so equipped turn off torque management or is that even what is causing what I am feeling here. Here is a thread that describes what is happening:

I have never hit the rev limiter in my Camaro, but I used to run my 98 S-10 at the track. You will know if you hit the rev limiter. It cuts fuel for a enough time to **** you off, and then it gives you fuel again. I don't know how a catback could affect torque management or backpressure at all. ASR should pull enough spark to prevent spinning between shifts. I suppose if the PCM calculated that you were making enough torque, then power management would yank some. You need to pull some logs to see what is going on. Unless you need a fuel filter or something.

turning off the asr is what you would want to do while racing, it only turns off the traction control system " monitors for wheel spin and cuts power or pulses the brakes to make the tire not spin" torque management is a totally different thing, that is something that you cant turn off with a switch but only by programming.. with your car bogging durring the shift just means that the asr "being turned on" was just doing its job and making your tires not spin,
there are two settings of asr, one is normal light throttle non aggressive traction control and then there is an aggressive traction control setting.. but that is only in the pcm too, and it is used depending on the rate of tps timing.

No, torque management does not care about ASR.
However the ASR control does look at the desired
torque info in determining spark pullout (the first
layer of ASR action).

When you get torque management to intervene, trust me, you'll know it with out a doubt! I didn't have problems with it until I installed my converter. Then it was a total PITA! Even more apparent with the cam. Tuning takes care of it though. And like the others have said, the ASR or TCS in my case, doesn't turn torque management on or off.

Traction control is what freaks me out. I hate the feeling as it yanks the throttle cable out of my control.

Delete all the timing reductions for TCS, the motor won't completly fall on itself when tcs kicks in.
