Default car idled down to 300rpms, WTF?

after driving around town alittle (30miles) i stopped at circut city, as I was leaving, i started the car, it fired up then immediatly droped down and sounded like it was going to die. then idled back to a whoping 300rpms then i put it in reverse & it started pulsing up & down between 250-400rpms barily running, all lights dim, it drove alright no apparent loss in power but at stop lights it would drop down to 350rpms. i made it to a friends house turned it off went in for like 20 min came out and every thing normal, idles, drives, runs fine....WTF? is there a sensor of something that could be going bad? ive never had any problems at all before.

Mines occasionally does that. I just turn it off and then restart it, runs good. I am curious about this also.

I've had that happen to me a few times in the past few years. Mine only droped to 400 or so but i'd just turn it off then back on and it ran just fine. I'm assuming its a hickup in the IAC or PCM.

Thats the IAT, intake air temp. IAC, idle air controller is located on the throttle body, its the top harness. The harness below is the throttle position sensor.
