DFCO spark cut...what kind of requirements are there?

DFCO spark cut...what kind of requirements are there? It is starting to look to me like DFCO can cut spark in anticipation of entering DFCO. Anybody have any ideas what the PCM actually looks for as requirements to start pulling spark, even if the DFCO requirements are not met? Am I wrong about how it works?
