Default Cylinder 7 misfire? Can anyone help?

Last night while driving around my SES light popped up, so this morning I rented a scan tool and came up with code P-307: Misfire detected in Cylinder 7.
So, can anyone tell me what this means? What could be the cause of the problem? How does it affect my engine?

I'm pretty new to the LS1 so all help is appreciated!
Thanks

Check your spark plug wires, make sure they are in the coil all the way. And if that dosent help, might want to check your spark plugs themselves.

Didnt really notice if it was down on power, when the light came on, I just took it easy on the throttle.
I'm in the process of swaping the plugs and wires now, they needed to be done anyway so we'll see if this is the problem.
Thanks for the help.
