PCM Identification
That PCM is 99-00 model year. It came in Corvettes, Camaros, Firebirds, and Trucks.
The OS is different for each body style and can be changed to whichever you would like. It can also accept the OS from 01-02 Camaro/Firebirds and 01-03 Corvettes (inc LS6).
Hope this helps!
Each year has many different OS's... these are generally just bug fixed previous versions... ... the 99-03 (maybe 04 Vettes?) PCMs are similar enough in hardware and wire output that you can run any of the OS's in it...
Example of differences...
99-00 OS's had a secondary VE table that had lower resolution than the main VE table... (VE = Volumetric Efficiency) .. 01-02 ONLY had the Primary table which increments in 5kpa increments... so it's higher resolution... better for tuning a speed density tune...

my 2000 car is running a 2002 OS right now
I believe HumpinSS's car is running a 2001 OSWhen I started w/the SD tuning Keith set me up w/an 02 OS right away, so I never did any SD tuning on the 2000 OS ... but Humpin was tuning on his car.. and sounds like he was having some issues w/the lack of resolution of the secondary VE table... (10kpa resolution)
So the 01/02 OS seems to be generally easier to tune for SD

#1 tuning support for the newer OS (depending on what package you use you'll need support/license for that year/make)
#2 You'll have to take your existing tune and hand copy the appropriate tables over (don't wanna reflash w/a previous years calibrations ... not 100% if it'd cause problems but better safe than sorry)
I don't think there'd be any conflicts though... AFAIK the secondary VE table on 99/00 cars is only used when you enter SD ... which on a normally operating car would never happen (unless you want to go into that mode specifcally for SD tuning... or if the MAF failed)
