Default Pcm is locked....what now?

I just got my HP tuners today, so I go out to read the pcm and Mike Morgan has locked it, WTF. How do I go about unlocking this? I figure all the money I have spent on tuning, whatever is in there is mine. Can you help me?

Thanks,
Mike.

Well they don't want you copying "their" tune to others' PCM. If you send it back to them, or any other tuner with Tuners PRO, they should be able to unlock it.

Will Hp tuner pro be able to unlock the pcm or will I lose my tune and have to go to a stock tune and start from scratch?

I had the same thing happen to a car I was working on. The guy who locked it refused to unlock the PCM. My customer had to buy a spare PCM and then have it flashed with a stock program, then I made the tuning changes. The place that locked it and wouldn't unlock it was called "Street and Performance". The do alot of LS1 conversions, don't ever buy a PCM from them, they will send you a locked one.

Appearantly most tuners dont keep the stock file for their customers...when i had cartek unlock mine they ended up using a tech II to flash it back to stock...later i found it ls1edit locks it differently and i couldve changed parameters without issue via hptuners.

Tuning it back to stock with a tech 2 has advantages, such as being the latest revision for that vin number. where if you started with an older version, you can benefit from a new "stock" file.

I updated mine with a tech 2 before i started tuning my vehicle, since i had used a hypertech on it at one point.

We had the exact same problem at our shop once. Street and Performance tried to tell us they didn't lock the PCM.

Well I spoke to Rob at Strictly performance today. He says they are close to unlocking Mikes pcms. That will be great because there are a lot of cars that have his tuning in them around here.
