Tuning 8.1 liters...

Anyone experienced with tuning GM 8.1L motors?

How about torque management realted stuff?

A friend of mine is seeing some weird stuff with his. I scanned it last night, and it's only going to 60% throttle, with the pedal on the floor. The TB progressively opens up to 100% later up in the RPM range in second gear or so... and this is with a respectable mail-order tune.

It's got a little TM on the shifts - not as bad as the GenIII's, but it's there.

I'm basically wondering if software like HPT or Edit can take care of these tables that I'm not familiar with, even in my drive by wire vehicle.

they probably forgot to change the Etc max tps vs rpm vs Torque table,

if the tps is bad, and dont go to 100% then the throttle wont open 100% . It has to be 100 for you to get the full 100 if not you only get 75%

Awesome - thanks...

Now I do have a similar table like this in my PCM, but I get at least a full/indicated 100% throttle whenever I want it. His was only coming in at the top of second or the top of each gear.

Is that the stock table, or the modded table above?

this is my modified table.. lol, it gets rid of the throttle limits, the other table is stock. jses
