Default Homegrown PCM...anybody ever done it?

I have done some work with embedded microprocessors, both from the hardware and the software aspect so I have been wondering if anyone has attempted to build/program their own PCM. I have never seen the source code for a PCM but with the source code I feel that someone could build their own system. Anyone given a try?

megasquirt is open source.. the code is out there.. and anyone is free to modify it.

ive built a megasquirt ECM.. they're cool. matter of fact i have it just sitting here.. lol. i was going to 'squirt my solid roller 400... with the intentions of running boost...

but then i swapped to a LS1... similar power output, same price (cheaper actually since i sold all my SBC stuff) and the LS1 gets better MPG.. lol.

I have looked into it, I would still like to do it, but MEGASQUIRT is a great option too for people who just want it to work but not spend a fortune.
