i know of a few of the SMARTER tuners that have switched to hptuners or efilive...figure you save a minimum of 45 mins between read/write times for the same stuff. And they can now also tune v6 cars and a few other models ls1edit couldnt do...overtime if you can see the big picture it was wise to trade UP

I am glad the switch worked for them, I dont have 10k to toss away, what is thier secret? Beleive me I have thought about it, but there is little advantage for me go to another tuning package. I can do everything I need to do with edit, I don't get calls to tune v6s. I may get HPtuners for trucks/SUVs and LS2s possibly, I do feel carputing is behind on a lot of things and the only advantage they have now is being first to the market with a product, if HP or EFIlive gets there first or near the same time carputing is in some serious trouble.

Before Hptuners came out, carputing wanted like $27,000 for all of the packages they sold, if bought seperately. So $9500 is not unreasonable to have invested into the software.

Anyone considering a software/hardware package that can scan and tune in an integrated way should look seriously at EFILive with FlashScan and HPT, do some research and comparison and make their own decision. I own and use EFILive with FlashScan and it is a wonderful package. The software upgrades are free and the folks at EFILive are very receptive and responsive to requests for changes and refinment of the package which improve ease of use.

All my best,

Steve
