Default How do you delete Knock sensors?

I searched but could not find a definate answer. I am getting a PO332 code, I believe I have a bad knock sensor and want to disable my knock sensor's so that I wont pull timing when the PO332 code pop's up. How do I do this with edit? Thanx in advance.

I wouldn't advise disabling the knock sensors... fix the problem (knock sensors are cheap and easy to replace, engines are not cheap and are not easy to replace)

That being said... you should be able to turn P0332 code off in edit (DTC list) which will stop it from going into limp mode... , there are also several tables for setting the MAX KR at Power Enrich, out of Power Enrich and based on PRM (not sure what they're called in edit)...

but again I don't reccommend you doing this... especially if you plan on spraying... fix the problem right and you'll have nothing to worry about...

Also for diagnostic purposes, the code is P0332 (2nd character isn't a letter it's a number)

Turn the code to x=off.

I'm sure you know that this is not the right way to deal with this. You really want your knock sensors functional. Lecture over.

Thanx for the replys guy's, this is just temporary untill I get my new KS and harness, I never get any pinging or knock any more since my new tune and I also deleted my stock PCV for breathers. I won't be running any nitrous without KS though.

If it was my car I wouldn't turn the knock sensors off at all. I'd just wait until I got the parts, and fix it correctly.

As Mike said, knock sensors are cheap, engines are expensive. JMO.

But good luck anyway!

Is I't possible with Edit just to turn X off only one knock sensor and leave the other one on?

I would not suggest turning that off--you might want to investigate why its reading what it is--i would replace the sensor before deleteing it --its not that hard and they are critical to keep imo

I know the knock sensers are under the manifold. What's it take to put them in. Is it hard to take the manifold off

KS are over rated.
I have had mine off every since the motor was tuned.
We ran with out KS for 30 yrs and sprayed the **** of cars for the same amount of time.
Your motor will talk to you if you will listen. If you don't like to listen put the KS in and be done.
The manifold is easy to get off.
I use a 8mm gear wrench,if you don't have one go steal one from your buddy or buy you a set of gear wrenches.

Make sure that if you do indeed disable the knock sensors, you need to either run a custom operating system, or put the high octane spark table over to the low octane spark table. It reverts to that table when you have a knock sensor issue.
