I have a Vig 3200, and I'm going to return the tuning to stock b/c I think that the tuning is screwed up with it right now. I was told that tuning is not as necessary with a shift kit.

The more I look into this as well as you have, I have found stock line pressure NEEDS to be stock. Shift points and torque converter lock up needs to be tuned. Well, at least to make the tranny perform better. I am most definetly a novice at this, however, not everything everyone is telling you on these forums are as true or factual as they seem. You have to research for yourself and weed out what seems to be factual and what seems to be fiction or hear say. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge than I can come in here and tell us what is needed in the tune, if tuning is needed. Any help would be appreciated.

Iam also interested in a torque converter like a 3000 stall, my car is stock except for exhaust and moser 373 gears and I emailed Dan from Finish Line Performance and he says that a tune isn't necessary with that stall unless you are hitting the rev limiter

Rest assured, with that gear ratio, and a higher stall, your stock shift points WILL be inaccurate, and the vehicle WILL go in and out of gear.

Steve is absolutely correct. My 3200 vig has my car going in and out of gear at lower rpms with stock transmission tunning. Also, the vig is locking in way too early. The TCCs have to be changed for this converter. Remember, some guys refer to tunning as to engine performance. When you ask if it needs tuned, you should ask to see if the stock shift points and Torque converter lock up ratios need to be changed instead. You'll be surprise that most will say yes when you refer tuning like this.

Also, without changing any of my programming for my new vig 3200, my car went 4 tenths quicker in the quarter and didn't have any issues with the tranny when running at wot. It's only when daily driving comes into factor with the tranny performing flawlessly. Friday, I will be having a well know tuner tune my tranny. This should fix any issues I have with the shift points and lock up ratio.

I've got a PYE 3500 in my car with stock tuning ... it drives fine. However, torque converter lock and unlock could use some improvement. It is not currenlty unacceptable but I can tell that improvements could be made to this with tuning ... something I will do at some point in the future.

but i do have LS1 edit already for my 373 gears, i have the shift points and downshift already adjusted for the 373 gears. Iam just wondering if I do get a stall would i have to get my car retuned?
