Your hypertech is not worth a damn for a cam install. You will need to have adjustments made to you idle for sure, and timing and possibly fuel for optimum power and driveabilty, upgrading injectors can benefit a cam install sometimes as well. The only software I would recommend is ls1 edit and hp tuners, look for some tunershops in your area, remove the hypertech program and sell it on ebay to offset the cost. Every thing you have done with your hypertech can easily be copied and improved with dedicated pc based tuning software. I have a tune on my near stock 02 z that is almost a carbon copy of the predator tune, with minor adjustments using hp tuners software

He is totally right, more specifically, there are people who tune them independently you can find them here on the forum, you have to be careful though, you dont want some jack *** screwing your car up. If you go that route, make sure they have wideband o2, and one of the afore mentioned programs on this thread. Adjustments made to timing and fuel can be disastrous without accurate air/fuel ratio readings. I suggest you go to a tunershop, find one that geared towards ls1 engines, the prices I have seen for shop tunes range from $400-$675, anything more than that is a rip, that should include the actual tuning plus dyno time, and wide band capability. If they cannot provide at lest that dont take your car there. Good shops will have a free retune policy plus the cost of additional dyno time so subsequent retunes should be 100-150 dollars. Remember not to let em ram it to ya everytime you need one done.
