So I take it you are running a closed loop SD tune?

Oh, and here's a question about getting there from here:

When I did my first SD tuning session (open loop to get the VE table in line), I just set my MAF fail freq to 0. I started the car up, and started driving along, and never got an SES light. I did some other tweaks, but never got an SES light. I did verify that I got a P101 code (the only one I had)...so how would the car act if it didn't fall in to SD mode? I don't want to unplug my MAF...I guess I'm just wondering if I'm even in the right mode. I am getting a 12.96 commanded AFR at all times, and my VE table isn't too terribly far off when I do the AFR % Error Histogram...I'm just assuming that it was working as it should.

Nope, all the codes were completely enabled like they came from the factory.

But how would it run? I guess I'm asking because my car ran great the way it was, but I have no idea if I was in SD mode. Does it NEED a P102 code, or will any combination of a 101,102, or 103 code work?

Oh, and I won't really be able to unplug my new MAF because the IAT is inside of it...so that isn't an option.

My commanded afr equals my actual afr if it is set to 14.63, when I set it to 13.0 the actual is off from the commanded.

I had noticed a problem last week that may be affecting your car as well. I followed everyone's suggestions for tuning by setting MAF Fail Freq to zero. I went through with my tune and checked everything using my LC-1 and it was gravy. Then, I tried to go back to stock settings with my new dialed-in VE / PE tables thinking the open loop scenario will command the richest AFR (ie - if OLFA says 1.13 and PE says 1.17, it will command the 1.17 EQ). My trims took a nose dive on me and I spent some time recalibrating the MAF, but it just didn't seem right. So, the second time around I completely unplugged the MAF and the wideband tuning caused my whole VE table shift upwards. I haven't gone back to closed loop operation just yet, but I can't help but think the PCM uses the information reported from the MAF even though the fail freq. is set to zero.

One correction in your statement. The pcm uses the richest values in PE mode between the two tables all other times it uses the OLFA table.

Unplug the maf sometimes it takes a while for it to fall over into SD mode. I would only plug it back up when i was getting ready to recal it.
